Welcome back, been a while since I posted due to work commitments etc but wanted to share the latest updates.
You may remember if you’ve been following that I painted the whole house white. I wanted fresh white walls to act as a kind of canvas to not take away from the art etc on the walls.

It’s been a while since I moved in now and was starting to crave a little more colour and something different.
I set up the smallest room in the house as a craft room/office. Somewhere to draw and paint and use the laptop at a desk. The same as everywhere else it got a coat of white paint.

Shelves for storage and a simple desk. I also have the Ikea kallax unit with storage baskets.

I’ve been spending more and more time in here, working from home some and more craft projects and wanted to liven it up. Taking inspiration from Pinterest I decided to paint the walls but just half way. I took some inspiration from rooms like this

Settled on some paint I already had here. It’s a Valspar colour called Blue Ridge Mist.

It looks different on different walls where the light hits it. Grey, blue or green. It’s not too bright, a lovely muted colour. The cute brass fish are vintage.
I believe the correct way to do this is to carefully measure out on the wall in small intervals and to check this with a spirit level. I am extremely impatient and ended up eyeballing it, I did check once the tape was up that it was level before I started to paint.
All in all, I’m very happy with the end result. Leaving that top half of the room white stops the darker colour sucking all the light out of the room. What do you think? Tempted to try it? ….
Looks really fresh, much nicer than plain white walls
